Ohio Action for Healthy Kids is thankful to our funding partners who make our work to promote healthy school environment possible. Below is a list of partners who help us accomplish our goals. American Dairy Association Mideast (ADA Mideast) has been a key partner with Ohio AFHK since its inception in 2002. ADA Mideast continues to show their support by providing funding to support the operations, leadership and program effectiveness.
Ohio Department of Health (ODH): ODH has provided ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) funding to support the training and implementation of CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Childhood Health) Kids Club in afterschool programs around Ohio. CATCH Kids Club (CKC) brings healthy activity to after-school and community recreation programs for children in grade K-5. CKC is composed of nutrition education materials (including snack activities) and a physical activity component. The program format is designed to make it easy for staff to implement and is enjoyable for staff and students.
National Funding Support
Kellogg’s Corporate Citizenship Fund and Action for Healthy Kids have awarded funds to the Ohio AFHK team and Toledo Public Schools to expand school breakfast participation. Ohio was one of five states selected for this opportunity in August 2011.
Healthy Kids, Healthy Schools
The Healthy Kids, Healthy Schools collaborative has joined with corporate and foundation partners throughout Ohio to support efforts in schools to create healthy environments where Healthy Kids, Learn Better.
